Training in hypnosis

Most reputable hypnosis organisations insist that training in hypnosis should only be offered to licensed healthcare professionals such as psychologists, doctors, dentists, and nurses. Hypnosis is not a therapy in its own right, and so hypnosis should only be used by professions trained in another form of therapy or medical care. People calling themselves 'hypnotherapists' do not typically have prior qualifications in health-care: if you wouldn't let an unlicensed mechanic fix your car, why would you let someone without qualifications near your body or mind?

The training organisations and courses listed here offer hypnosis training to professionals. If you're looking for training in 'hypnotherapy' why not consider learning psychology, psychotherapy, or counselling first?
