This site was created by Dr Matthew Whalley. I studied with Professor David Oakley at the Hypnosis Unit in the Department of Psychology, University College London, and was awarded my Ph.D in 2004 (the title of my thesis was 'The psychology and neuroanatomy of functional pain'). I have since completed a postdoctoral fellowship as part of a team running a series of studies investigating emotional memories in patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I'm currently training as a Clinical Psychologist. This site is not run for profit, and exists purely to provide a relatively unbiased source of information about hypnosis research - I try to provide balanced coverage, if you think I've been unfair then please get in touch.

If you buy any books via the links on this site, I will receive 5% commission on any purchases you make. Anything you buy (books or otherwise) will count. Of course, it does not cost you any extra - Amazon pay for the commission. Any commission I receive will go toward the upkeep and expansion of HypnosisAndSuggestion.org, such as fees for web hosting and domain registration. Once you have searched from this page, and been redirected to Amazon, you do not need to return to this page. I will receive commission on any item you buy during that visit.
